Farm Manager (m/f/d)
We are seeking an experienced Aquaculture Farm Manager to oversee, manage and maintain our aquaculture farm. Responsibilities include planning and directing daily farm operations, such as breeding, rearing and monitoring the health of fish and maintaining optimal farm conditions. The ideal candidate will possess excellent managerial skills, a keen interest in sustainable aquaculture practices, and a strong understanding of aquatic animal health and nutrition.
Your tasks
- Plan, coordinate and manage daily fish farm operations, including feeding, growth tracking, and harvesting
- Maintain optimal farm conditions and ensure compliance with government regulations
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and quality standards
- Carefully monitor aquatic life to detect diseases or abnormal behaviour and implement solutions to mitigate health issues
- Stay informed on new technologies and best practices in aquaculture
- Prepare and manage budget and farm resources efficiently
- Train and supervise stuff
- Regularly report on farm status, challenges, and production
- Manage relationships with other departments, suppliers, community, and regulatory bodies
Your qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Aquaculture Farm Manager or similar role
- Master degree in Aquaculture, Marine Biology, or related field is preferred
- Strong leadership, decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with aquatic animal health and nutrition
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and quality standards in aquaculture industry
- Proficient in farm management software and MS Office
- Ability to handle high-stress situations
- Fluent in English with skills in Italian or German
